Bradford transport industry recruitment specialist Driver Hire has seen demand for its services flourish as more companies look to use temporary staff to cope with fluctuating demand in uncertain economic conditions.
Earnings before interest and tax soared by 45 per cent, while revenue from its 95-strong UK network of offices grew by 22 per cent to £70 million. Seventeen branches achieved revenue growth of more than 50 per cent.
The group also accelerated the expansion of its branch network, with new offices opening in Darlington, Leamington Spa, Twickenham and south-east London.
The group believes that it has become the UK’s largest provider of driver competence training through its subsidiary Driver Hire Training which also continued to strengthen its performance during the year.
Chief Executive Chris Chidley said: “We’ve enjoyed an outstanding year. In a still-uncertain economic environment our clients clearly welcome the flexibility of using temps. In a highly-regulated industry they also value working with a reliable partner they know will supply them with quality and compliant staff.
“Looking ahead, as economic activity continues to recover, we see a greater demand for permanent staff. That’s why we launched dh Logistics Appointments – a new permanent recruitment service for managerial staff.
“Another exciting development is our proposal for online driver assessment and training. Overall, I’m very optimistic for the year ahead with our mix of blue-chip national customers and local SMEs continuing to drive our office network forward to further success.”
