A new initiative to provide this year’s school-leavers the chance of work experience in the construction industry is being piloted across Bradford.
The initiative by CITB-ConstructionSkills offers youngsters the opportunity to enrol on a two to four-week placement, as part of a new scheme called Exper-ience Construction.
The scheme has been devised by the Sector Skills Council and CITB to give more young people a first step in their career and provide direct opportunities in their local area.
It will enable young people to try out careers before deciding on their future, particularly those who are not employed or in education and training, and to find opportunities on their doorstep.
The work experience placements will take place from February until July.
