Skipton-based Procter Property has won an award from the Federation of Master Builders.
It has been named Yorkshire and Trent Master Builder of the Year 2010 for a new home it built in Woodlands Drive, Skipton.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom detached home has its own home cinema, state-of-the-art sound and light system and underfloor heating.
Managing director Gary Procter said: “I would like to thank the fantastic group of local tradesmen, many of whom I have a long association with, who have worked on the project. This award is as much for them as me.
“I think it was obvious from the outset that this was going to be a unique and very special development.
“We used local suppliers and spent much time and effort in sourcing and incorporating the highest quality stone products and building materials as well as the latest high tech devices.
“We have had an unprecedented level of positive feedback from locals, passers-by and fellow builders, indeed Skipton builders are a close-knit bunch and I hope that our success will show that if you commit to a quality product you can still build and sell in the present market.
“We had the usual small minority of opposition and whilst I respect that everyone is entitled to an opinion I hope that this award which is based on a very wide criteria vindicates the property that we have constructed.”
Procter Property goes forward to the finals in London in March.
