The tie-up between a UK law firm with Bradford roots and a leading US practice has been completed.
The merger between US firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey and Hammonds LLP has created a legal practice with around 1,275 lawyers around the world. Talks between Squire Sanders and Hammonds were announced in August and partners from each firm approved the deal in November.
Squire Sanders’ new global board includes eight Squire Sanders partners and five Hammonds partners, including former managing partner Peter Crossley, who now is Squire Sanders’ managing partner for Europe.
Mr Crossley said: “We believe this combination is a catalyst for lasting positive change for us and for the clients we serve.” The practice will be known as Squire Sanders Hammonds.
