More than half of people in Yorkshire intend to maintain their charity giving in the New Year, in spite of incoming Government cuts and economic uncertainty.
Research by private client investment firm Brewin Dolphin, found 55 per cent of people in the region will donate the same amount or more to charities next year.
The poll, conducted by YouGov, suggests that despite economic uncertainties, people still like to make contributions to charities.
Rupert Fenton, of Brewin Dolphin Bradford, said: “Charities depend on goodwill and cash donations from individuals and people giving their time through volunteering. This research should be seen as encouraging, as despite the economic uncertainty, people are continuing to support charities and the voluntary sector.
“The findings are mirrored by the behaviour of our own clients, many of whom are embracing new ways of supporting charities and have been increasing their donations year-on-year.”
