Jurys Inn, which will open its new hotel in Bradford this month, has announced a deal to sponsor Bradford’s National Media Museum.

The hotel chain is set to become one of the museum’s premier business partners, as part of its community partnership programme.

The programme will focus on bringing tourism to the city and developing partnerships with local businesses and charities to support Bradford.

The sponsorship will see a presence for Jurys Inn Bradford on the museum’s media wall, website and in festival brochures, as well as other materials.

Jurys Inn will provide rooms for use by guests and VIPs attending the Bradford Animation Festival and Bradford International Film Festival, as well as other events.

Meanwhile, Jurys Inn Bradford hotel guests will benefit from 20 per cent off Pictureville Cinema tickets and a ten per cent discount at the National Media Museum’s cafe and shop.

Although Jurys Inn Bradford is not planned to open until Thursday, July 22, the hotel’s general manager, Roger Clark-Coates, said he was already focused on building long-term partnerships with the local community to help drive more visitors to Bradford and boost the local economy.

He said: “All of us at the hotel consider ourselves to be ambassadors for Bradford. Many of our employees have lived in the area for years and feel a great sense of pride for the city.

“The National Media Museum is one of the city’s greatest assets and we look forward to working with the team to leverage opportunities to attract more visitors to Bradford who love film.”

The National Media Museum covers seven floors including interactive galleries about photography, television and animation, three cinemas including an IMAX screen, and two temporary exhibition galleries. Rob Shaw, head of development at the museum, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Jurys Inn Bradford.

“The hotel is only a stone’s throw away from the National Media Museum and will be a perfect base for people visiting to attend the Bradford International Film Festival and other events throughout the year.

“We look forward to working with Roger and his team to help establish Bradford’s reputation as a true City of Film.”
