A local accountancy firm is sponsoring a mountaineering challenge in memory of a former managing partner.
Clough & Company, which has offices in Keighley and Cleckheaton, is the main sponsor of Bradford-born Catherine Berry who is trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest, in spite of suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome (ME).
She is undertaking the challenge in memory of her late father, Keith Watmough, who worked at the firm for more than 30 years.
Clough & Company has also launched a new ‘journey’-themed marketing campaign that includes a new corporate brochure.
Steven Gash, practise chairman, said: “Keith dedicated most of his working life to the firm and we are delighted to be able to sponsor Catherine in memory of her father. Having been in business for over 50 years, we understand how important it is to support people on both their personal and professional journeys through life.”
Catherine will leave for the two- and-a-half week trek to Everest Base Camp three years to the day her father died.
She said: “The support that Clough & Company has showed me has been amazing and the sponsorship takes the amount I have raised for the British Heart Foundation to £6,119.03 to date.”
