A West Yorkshire independent insurance broker has started an expansion programme aimed at establishing branches throughout the UK.

J M Glendinning, of Guiseley, has opened a new office near Penistone in South Yorkshire.

Established in 1972, the family-run business plans to achieve a national footprint. The South Yorkshire office will be headed by Mark Browne, formerly a director of Rockford Insurance, to serve businesses and individuals.

He is supported by Steve Winfield, also previously at Rockfords Insurance.

Paul Glendinning, managing director and son of the founder, said: “These are exciting times for the group. We are convinced that we have the right mix of people, independence and services to benefit a wider client base. We are determined to bring our brands to an extended population, and are actively looking for suitable companies and locations to work with.”
