Buy-out of assets saves some jobs
THE assets of a West Yorkshire construction group due to build affordable homes in Bradford have been bought out of administration.
While 120 jobs at Halifax-based Southdale Homes group have been safeguarded, 87 redundancies have gone ahead.
Parts of the business have been acquired from administrators at business advisory group Alix Partners by Kier Living, which said the deal significantly strengthened its North of England operationsin the North of England.
Earlier this month Southdale announced it was to build 20 homes at Prince Street, Bradford, for Home Group and promised to use local suppliers and create new jobs and apprenticeships as part of ambitious growth plans.
