A STRIKE involving engineers at Fox’s Biscuits in Batley, due to take place this week has been suspended to enable a vote on a new pay offer to take place.
The action would have involved 42 members of the Unite union who were due to stage stoppages for six hours each day today (Wed) and tomorrow. A new pay offer, based on a one-year deal has been made by the company.
Sarah Mitchell, Unite regional officer, said: “The six hour stoppages due today and on Thursday have been suspended for our members to vote on a further offer from the company. Unite won’t be commenting further until this vote has taken place.”
