A BRADFORD motors entrepreneur is returning to his roots as a result of his business expanding into its second West Yorkshire site.

Business owner Clive Brook, who bought his Canal Road Volvo dealership from the Harratts Group in 2007, has bought another Harratts site in Leeds Road, Huddersfield – the town where he started his career as an apprentice Volvo technician.

Clive Brook, said: “I started my career in the motor trade as an apprentice Volvo technician in Huddersfield with Olaf Olsens. I then worked my way up in the dealership after it became Jansens, ending my time there as sales manager.

“I was then appointed to manage the building and the setting up of the current Leeds Road site 17 years ago, going onto managing a number of Volvo locations while working for Harratts.

“However, eight years ago marked a pivotal point in my career, when I took the decision to go on my own, creating Clive Brook Ltd which took over the then struggling Harratts site in Bradford. The team has transformed the dealership into one of Volvo UK’s best performing sites after enjoying a record breaking first seven years, which included winning consecutive Trading Standards awards for ‘excellence in customer service’.

“The company has grown from strength to strength and we now plan to do the same at our newly acquired Huddersfield site.” Clive Brook customers have the rare commodity of meeting the owner on site in a business that’s not a part of a faceless group.”

Mark Gooseman, general sales manager, has returned to the Huddersfield dealership where he started in 1997 as an apprentice sales consultant.

Gary White has been appointed aftersales manager after 27 years of working for Volvo.

After spending two years at Clive Brook Bradford, Cliff Wright has returned as senior service advisor.
