KINDHEARTED staff at Bibby Financial Services raised more than £13,500 for a Bradford charity which helps disadvantaged children.
The Bradford Road, Chain Bar firm raised £13,565 to support city charity One In a Million (OIAM) projects by climbing Britain’s highest mountain Ben Nevis, skydiving from 15,000ft, holding a charity dinner at Marriott Hotel in Leeds, dress down days and other smaller fundraising activities.
The charity, co-founded by former Bradford City player Wayne Jacobs nine years ago, provides community-based sports, arts and enterprise programmes to children and young people, who live in disadvantaged areas of Bradford.
It helps more than 700 children every week and relies on the support of Bradford businesses and residents.
Bibby’s goal was to raise enough money to support OIAM’s community to support youngsters who live close to their Bradford office.
Mark Storey, Bibby managing director, said: "We were delighted to have supported OIAM during 2014 as our chosen charity and having raised a significant amount of money to benefit the children and young people across Bradford."
Mr Jacobs said: "It was a real pleasure to work with the Bibby Financial Services team, who generously gave up their time to support our work among disadvantaged young people.
"They have a great team with big hearts and to achieve such an amount is simply outstanding."
