MIDLAND Hotel is offering a learning programme to Bradford schools which challenges students to consider a career in hospitality.
Midland Hotel, in Forster Square, is one of nine owned by Peel Hotels and the firm’s flexible project-based learning programme can be incorporated into the school curriculum.
It requires students to discover more about the company, the sector, job roles and career paths.
Young people are asked ‘What really goes on behind the scenes in a hotel?’ and are guided through classroom activities, leading to a final session when they present business proposals to managers from the hotel.
Teaching resources include video clips from ten staff at Midland Hotel talking about their work and career paths.
Job roles range from assistant manager to head chef.
