PROPERTY investors have swooped for two commercial units in Bradford and Shipley which provide healthy rental income.

Agent Dacres Commercial has sold an industrial unit in Mortimer Street, Girlington, which is leased by Northern Gas Networks to an unidentified buyer off an asking price of £245,000.

A four-storey property opposite Shipley Market at the junction of Westgate and Atkinson Street ,which produced an income of more than £9,000 per annum at the time of sale, was sold to a local investor for an undisclosed sum. The property was on the market for £105,000. The 640 sq ft of floor and basement retail space is currently let to a café operator. The upper floors consist of a two bedroom duplex apartment let on a six month assured short hold tenancy.

Mathew Brear , of Dacres Commercial ,said: “Both properties provided an ideal opportunity for someone looking to invest capital. In recent years we have found that due to the current low interest rates, properties like these can provide individuals with a fantastic alternative to traditional savings.”

Dacres Commercial is also seeking a buyer for selling Westgate Arcade in Otley, which includes three commercial units and four residential apartments, and is on the market for £850,000.
