SAVERS preferring traditional methods of dealing with financial organisations are being offered a new passbook ISA tax-free account.
The Triple Access Saver ISA from Yorkshire Building Society pays 1.35 per cent interest. Savers can make three penalty-free withdrawals within the tax year.
It also accepts ISA transfers from other providers.
YBS research showed that 53 per cent of customers favour the branch network as their main means of managing their savings.
And 55 per cent said they preferred to use a passbook to keep track of transactions on their account.
Mike Helliwell, YBS savings manager, said: “Customers clearly like the personal, face-to-face service they get in branch and they also tell us they want a straightforward account with a steady interest rate, rather than something with gimmicks or time-limited bonus rates.”
