A KEIGHLEY-based motor dealer has clocked up a milestone.
Colin Appleyard Cars has sold its 30,000th new Suzuki.
Buyer of the landmark vehicle, Christina Naughton, was introduced to Suzuki by her mother Anne-Marie Bradley, who has now bought six new cars from Appleyard.
Both women were presented with hampers and vouchers to mark the occasion.
“I never dreamed that when we opened our first showroom 36 years ago we would be celebrating selling 30,000 cars,” said chairman Colin Appleyard.
“I couldn’t have done it without our dedicated and loyal staff, so I must thank them for all their hard work and commitment in making this landmark achievement possible.”
The company was Suzuki’s first UK car franchise.
In addition to the Keighley showroom, it now has branches in Huddersfield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Shipley.
Last year, the firm won the Suzuki Dealer of the Year award for the sixth time.
Meanwhile, the number of cars built in the UK reached a seven year high of more than 1.5 million in 2014, with a new car rolling off a production line every 20 seconds.
A successful year for the industry ended with the strongest December in a decade, with 108,000 cars produced.
