AN expanding Saltaire-based HR services company has been appointed by Bradford Council to deliver advice and support to 10,000 staff through an advisory-services centre AdviserPlus, which last year doubled the size of its offices to meet growing demand, has clinched a long-term deal to work alongside with the council to deliver a suite of HR support to the local authority’s managerial workforce, from its Saltaire base.
Adviserplus has hired several new staff to handle the council contract.
The new service is going live this month and will provide specific HR support for all the council’s managers across a range of service areas.
Chris Clarke, AdviserPlus chief executive, said: “Following our successful tender, we are delighted that Bradford Council has chosen AdviserPlus as its HR services partner.“As we continue to grow and win new clients across the full range of industry sectors, extending our services to organisations in the public sector is very much a key strategic focus.
“Our partnership with Bradford Council is particularly significant as it enables us to increase our presence in the public sector and is our first local-authority client.”
Bradford Council is the fourth-largest metropolitan district council in England. Matt Burghardt, the council’s interim head of human resources, said: “Our partnership with AdviserPlus is part of a long-term strategy to ensure that we support our managers by developing their skills and capability in dealing with HR issues. The model that AdviserPlus use is unique and we believe it will enhance our own in-house provision,”
Last year AdviserPlus announced plans to double its workforce over the next five years and expanded its offices to cater for the expansion. The company, which provides outsourced HR, payroll, health and safety and other personnel services, added an extra 7,500 sq ft of space in the Waterfront building located on the banks of the Leeds-Liverpool canal.
The company moved into the Waterfront in 2009 with just 13 staff and outgrew its original office suite within a year.
It now employs around 100 staff and plans to grow this by about 160 .
