Top sports turf consultancy STRI has launched a pioneering new management programme for golf courses.
The company, based at the St Ives estate at Harden, unveiled the initiative at the Bigga Turf Management Exhibition in Harrogate.
The programme uses state-of-the-art technology to help golf clubs monitor their courses by accurately measuring and assessing turf performance and providing detailed data and analysis.
A device identifies problem zones and recommendations are then made for improvements.
Paul Woodham, for STRI, said: “We’re delighted to launch this new programme.
“Reducing costs and boosting performance, the service provides golf clubs with a complete and objective view of performance across the whole course – tees, fairways, approaches and greens.”
STRI – previously the Sports Turf Research Institute – has supplied expertise and advice to sports bodies across the world.
