Two local solicitors firms are among 11 in Yorkshire forced to close by The Solicitors Regulation Authority for failing to secure public indemnity insurance on time.
Megsons Personal Injury in Arndale House, Bradford, and White Solicitors, of Mornington Road, Bingley, are listed by the authority.
In total, the SRA has named 136 UK law firms which have been forced to close, saying it had taken the unusual step of doing so in the interests of protecting consumers and third parties.
The SRA said: “There are a small number of firms that failed to close properly and they are subject to ongoing robust action. Firms are aware that they should not undertake work without insurance, although clients have protection in these circumstances.”
