An estate agent which sold a property within hours of it going on the market says the transaction shows confidence is returning to the housing sector.
The two-bedroom terrace house, in Victoria Street, Sutton, went up for sale early one morning and had been snapped up – for the £94,950 asking price – by 4pm that day.
“It was obvious this property would appeal to investors because it is a low maintenance home with gardens and parking and is ideally located close to lots of local amenities and transport links,” said Amanda May, a senior residential valuer at Dacre, Son & Hartley.
“In this particular sale the contracts were exchanged just 14 days later so the vendor was delighted, and it demonstrates how confidence is returning to the market.”
