ADDLEBOROUGH follows the pattern of the Yorkshire Three Peaks to the south by having a distinctive flat summit, viewable from miles around. The temptation to climb Addleborough is strong, but planning a route less easy. My favourite approach is from Thornton Rust in the heart of Wensleydale.

COUNTRY WALK: Rocking along the River Nidd
SOUTH of Pateley Bridge, the River Nidd is a more tranquil beast. Gone are the wild moors, replaced by a more tranquil scene, a scene of historical villages, farmlands and the unique rock formations of Brimham Rocks.
COUNTRY WALK: Take in the spectacular views
GRAGARETH and Great Coum are two of the best Dales 30’ mountains lying north of Ingleton. The walk is long, at more than 14 miles, but along (mainly) excellent paths and with the spectacular views is one of the best walks around.

SOUTH of Skipton lies an area of moors that are rarely visited. It is an interesting area to explore and this walk does just that. The second half of the walk has some lovely views across Airedale, particularly near Lund’s Tower.
