Bradford Bulls have delayed a decision on whether to extend hooker Julien Rinaldi’s loan.

“Julien has a foot injury and we’re waiting for further news,” explained Bulls head coach Steve McNamara.

The French international suffered the injury in the second half against St Helens last month.

“It is a bit sore but it is getting better,” said Rinaldi, who joined the Bulls for two months in late April as cover for crocked duo Wayne Godwin and Paul Deacon.

A scan soon after the match, however, revealed that the 30-year-old’s foot wasn’t broken.

Former Catalans Dragons and Harlequins player Rinaldi has put in some sparky displays for the Bulls since arriving in England after playing for Manly’s feeder club, the Sunshine Coast Eagles.

Godwin, meanwhile, was delighted to come through his first competitive outing after 15 weeks out with a broken leg.

He was part of the Bulls’ Reserve Grade team that defeated Leeds Rhinos 24-20 at Headingley on Friday tea-time.

Godwin, who scored one of the Bulls’ four tries, said: “It was great to get 70 minutes under my belt and it went well.

“I enjoyed playing alongside some of the youngsters like Steve Crossley and Kieran Hyde, and we had experience too with the likes of Michael Platt and Jode Sheriffe.

“It may have been Reserve Grade but it is always nice to beat Leeds, and the lads were buzzing afterwards, but I felt like I had been hit by a bus when I got up on Saturday morning I was so stiff!”
