Holy Family School's champion girls' rugby league team have gone on a belated lap of honour.
Joint winners of the Carnegie Champion Schools' final with Castleford High School last year at Year Nine level, the Year Ten Keighley girls paraded their trophy in front of 1,723 fans at the Joe Phillips Memorial Trophy pre-season friendly between Keighley Cougars and Bradford Bulls at Cougar Park.
And, Champion Schools' finalists for the past three seasons, they received hearty applause from both sets of fans.
Parading the trophy has been a journey for the Holy Family girls. In their first year, they did it at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff after the Year Seven final.
That was before the Leeds Rhinos v Hull clash, Holy Family having been beaten by Wakefield winners Airedale High School from Castleford. However, the following year, Holy Family emerged triumphant at Twickenham, defeating St John Fisher from Wigan.
Last year it was another new venue - the new Wembley, which was the most thrilling of the lot.
Holy Family had drawn 8-8 with Airedale High at RAF Uxbridge, Giogia Scacco having a try disallowed in the dying seconds.
In the Year Ten boys' event, Tong High School notched an excellent 24-14 victory at twice national champions Castleford High School in a regional round.
Tong set the tone from the kick-off, keeping Castleford in their own half on the first set, which gave the Bradford school an excellent attacking platform.
Props Kelvin Lockett and Luke Salfi then made 20 metres on each of their first carries, and stand-off John Bateman was able to beat three defenders and crash over for a try.
Castleford responded with a fine team try, but, with Kyle Hunt, Nathan Lee, Jake Stott and Ben Chapman setting the lead, Tong kept their heads up.
This led to Bateman scoring again, this time from a chip and collect, and, although they didn't score, Aiden Batey and and Aiden Douglas were troubling Castleford with their pace and footwork.
Bateman completed his hat-trick before half-time but defence was needed after the interval, Andrew Marshall, Luke Wroe, Caleb Critchley, Jordan Pickersgill and Devon James being up to the task.
Castleford bagged a converted try and a try, but Tong responded with converted tries by Ryan Jackson (a superb solo) and Bateman.
