Bradford Airedale's Steve Oldfield regained the over-50s trophy at last weekend's Withens Skyline Seven-mile fell-race.
He reduced his own course record by half a minute to post a time of 43min 56sec.
Oldfield has won the over-40s trophy six times now, and even won the race back in 2002, so knows the course like his own back yard.
He was awarded the M40 perpetual trophy.
However, the real star of the race was Kendal's 17-year-old England international Tom Addison.
He was so focused racing with the leading senior runners he omitted to turn at the Stoop standing stone on the old Haworth boundary, which officially is the turn-round point for under-18s.
The youngster's enthusiasm carried him with the leaders to the second checkpoint, Top Withins ruin, but by then it was quicker and safer for him to carry on in the race.
On the tourist path to the famous Bronte Bridge, he lost 20 yards on the leading group but, once over the bridge and up the scramble of Bronte waterfalls, he used his natural turn of speed to open a cushion over Alex Whittam and Oldfield to actually win the race.
His triumph could have been short-lived because officially he should have been disqualified.
But the general opinion of the organisers and the other runners was this would have been too harsh a punishment to one of fell running's most promising talents.
In the kids' Curly-Wurly Quarry Runs', the outstanding performance was by Bingley's Carly Robertson in winning the girls' under-14s.
Robertson, from Oakbank School, is an under-13 European karate champion but is equally promising at track, cross-country and, as she proved last weekend, fell-running.
