Bulls legend Henry Paul was dubbed a "complete embarrassment" following drunken antics that saw him escorted out of the glitzy Man of Steel dinner.

The former Kiwi star swayed up to the stage at Old Trafford while still clutching a pint of beer to accept an award for current team Harlequins.

Ironically, the gong was for the club's excellent on-field behaviour but off it Paul brought shame - slurring his words, wrestling the mic off host Eddie Hemmings and then being told to sit back down at the black-tie event.

Harlequins chairman Ian Lenagan was later seen dishing out a rollicking to the loose forward at the same venue where he memorably won the Grand Final with Bradford in 2001.

But the loudness continued and Paul was ejected by the Quins chief and two other men.

A guest at the dinner admitted: "Henry Paul was a complete embarrassment both to himself and his club, who he was supposed to be representing on the night.

"He was rowdy before the event started, made a fool of himself when he went on to the stage and was then rowdy again afterwards when other people were being presented with awards.

"He could hardly stand up at one point. Let's just say he was very inebriated.

"The last we saw of him he was being escorted out by his own club chairman."
