IT’S a case of three clubs going for one play-off place as far as City are concerned.

Graham Alexander’s men must beat Newport at Valley Parade on the final day and hope that Barrow and Crawley both slip up.

Barrow, with only one point from the last six games, host second-placed Mansfield on Saturday. Crawley are also at home to Grimsby.

But what is the mood like in the rival camps? Here is what the two managers have been saying.

PETE WILD (BARROW)

“We got hit by a sucker punch at the end against Bradford. We had four chances to clear the ball and we didn’t do that.

“That’s been the problem at key moments in games. There have been opportunities and chances to deal with the ball and we don’t do it.

“I will never make it us and them. We’re all a collective.

“We’ll win together and lose together and that’s how we’ve gone through the season.

“We have to stick together and try to keep going. Across the last four games you’ve seen glimpses of us but not enough over the full 90 minutes to get over the line.

“It’s our final opportunity and we have to believe we can still do it.”

SCOTT LINDSEY (CRAWLEY)

“We have got one big push left and anything can happen.

“We’re not just looking below us but above us as well. People are having a nervy finish and there’s still a lot to play for.

“With one game to go and we’re still in the play-offs (race) – it’s been a brilliant season. But it will be disappointing if we don’t make it.

“We’ve just got to keep believing and keep the spirits high.

“It’s not over and we’re very much still in it. A lot can happen.”
