Colin Todd reckons it's time for City to earn a slice of FA Cup fame after landing another home draw.
Their reward for Saturday's 4-0 demolition of Crewe is another Valley Parade tie in round two against either Millwall or Conference South club Havant & Waterlooville.
The non-leaguers, managed by former Leeds striker Ian Baird, host the League One side tonight at Portsmouth's Fratton Park.
But Todd is hoping there will be no upset because he would rather face opposition from the same division again than an unknown quantity.
"It's a very good draw for us and it will be even better if it's against another league side. If it's Millwall, you know what you are facing, like with Crewe, and there is no risk of a cup upset."
Todd is desperate for City to win through another stage and into the lucrative third-round pot when the top two divisions, including all the big boys, join the competition. "It would be great for this football club if we could reach round three and draw one of the big teams," said the City boss.
"We want to make something financially out of it but also it would be nice to have a bit of that glamour that the FA Cup can bring.
"The older players like David Wetherall and Dean Windass would love to have a crack at one of the Premiership's top sides and that excitement as much as the younger ones.
"The money would be very welcome but it's also important if we could raise the club's profile."
City romped to their first win in six weeks by crushing Crewe, with Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, Steve Schumacher and Windass on the scoresheet as well as an own goal. But the first-round tie was watched by a crowd of less than 3,500.
Todd added: "I know there was a lack of atmosphere but our approach to the game and the application was tremendous. It was important that the bad result against Brighton last week, when they scored in the last minute, didn't affect us and it hasn't.
"We had to make changes and people came in but I told the players on the training ground that out of adversity you become stronger and that's exactly what we did. Our approach play was very good and we could have scored more than four."
Centre half Simon Ainge was given his full debut and midfielder Colin Healy made the first appearance of his month's loan spell from Barnsley.
"Aingey did well and pushed on from last week, which was good to see," the manager added. "Colin was super and can only get better. When you've not played regular football it will have its affect but you can see he's a good player."
