Jamie Foster has revealed talks to stay with the Bulls beyond the end of his current one-year deal are underway.

The winger is proving a popular figure with team-mates and supporters after arriving from St Helens during the off-season.

As the Bulls seek to extend their probationary one-year Super League licence to the end of 2014 – in line with the other 13 clubs – Francis Cummins is eager to start planning for next year.

The Bulls coach wants to secure Foster’s services for next season and the player admits he would be delighted to extend his stay.

“I’m currently in talks with the club and my agent is speaking to them about staying here,” said the 22-year-old.

“A lot of fans have told me they would like me to stay and that’s very pleasing.

“I’m getting a lot of nice things said about me and some good reports.

“I think my game is coming together again. I’m just concentrating on my rugby and hopefully everything else will fall into place.

“I don’t want to be moving from club to club and I definitely want to stay here.

“I’m really enjoying it so hopefully it won’t be too long before there is a decision made and I’ll be pulling on a Bradford short for a few more years to come.”

Foster’s enthusiasm is infectious and he quickly adapted to life at Bradford during the winter.

After his career at hometown club St Helens was effectively ended after a nightmare performance against the Bulls last March, Foster went out on loan to Hull and proved a resounding success.

He helped Peter Gentle’s men into the play-offs but says the unity among the Bulls’ squad is like no other he has previously seen.

“Every person I speak to or interview I do asks me about the spirit here – and it’s unbelievable,” said Foster.

“I’ve played at St Helens and Hull and this is head and shoulders above any other team spirit I’ve been involved in.

“Everyone socialises together and is there for each other – it’s just a really good place to be.

“I’m absolutely loving it here, I really am, and have taken to Franny very well.”

After a rise in temperatures over the weekend, and the work of club staff and volunteers in moving snow from the terraces and cark parks, the Bulls are confident today’s clash with Salford will go ahead – although with some ice patches still on the pitch yesterday, there will be a 10am pitch inspection.

Chev Walker and Matty Blythe are replaced in the 19-man squad by Adam O’Brien and Jobe Murphy.

Foster admits the Bulls are in buoyant mood after he converted Adam Sidlow’s dramatic late try to secure a share of the spoils during Thursday’s 18-18 draw at Leeds.

Foster said: “When the big man went over at the end I nearly pulled my hamstring trying to jump on his back!

“It felt like a win to deny Leeds so late in the game and was no more than we deserved.

“I thought I played quite well – I did a few decent things and some nice little half-breaks – but there are also things I’d like to tidy up on.”
