Mark Lawn wants City to throw off the “losing culture” that has taken over the place.

The joint-chairman believes that a decade of decline has led to the club almost accepting defeat.

Peter Jackson is eager to instil a positive atmosphere into the squad for next season and Lawn feels that approach has to be mirrored at every level of the club.

He said: “The trouble with Bradford City is that there’s a losing culture. I said that to one manager here and he hit the roof.

“But we’ve got to turn that round and get a winning one. That goes right through the club.

“I’ve talked to Peter Horne and David Wetherall about it at youth level. It’s important to have that winning feeling all the way up.

“It’s like if you’re in a winning reserve team, you’re then pushing to be selected.

“I think that we had too many people who were automatically selected last season who just weren’t good enough.”
