JORDAN Gibson aims to follow Tyrell Robinson into City's League One plans.
The attacking midfielder emerged as the shining light in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Now he wants to transfer that eye-catching form on to the big stage as development squad team-mate Robinson has done.
The 19-year-old said: "There's been a lot of talk about this competition from outsiders. But it's a good platform for us young players.
"Tyrell came in for the Man City game, did well and he's been given his chance in the league and FA Cup. I've got to look at that and think 'I want to be where he is'.
"I've travelled down to Portsmouth, travelled to Shrewsbury and been on the bench against Plymouth, so that's three league games where I've been in the squad.
"I'm hungry to make my league debut now. That's my next goal.
"It's a long season and I know I've got to be patient. But it would be a big achievement for me and I've got to keep pushing."
Gibson made his third start in the Checkatrade Trophy against Oldham on Tuesday. After being released by Rangers in the summer, the teenager feels he has a point to prove.
"I don't want to say too much but I didn't really get a chance at Rangers for whatever reason," he said.
"I was released at the end of the season but I knew the chance would come around again. I've been given that opportunity in Bradford.
"I only signed in August but I've been playing regularly in this competition.
"It has given me a platform to showcase my talent and I'm thankful to the gaffer for putting me in the team.
"Every time I play, I try my best. Sometimes it might not happen for me but it's a learning curve.
"I feel like I've done well. But I'm disappointed we've gone out of the competition because it's a chance to get to Wembley and I want to win every game I play in."
Gibson played in three different roles in midweek and hopes his versatility will be an asset in making the next step.
He said: "The more positions you can play, the better chance you've got. It's not like I've just been thrown in there. I've done it before.
"I think I've grown in confidence this season. I've got to believe in myself more the closer I get to the first team.
"I've got to show the gaffer what I can do. I'll make mistakes and lose the ball – but I'm still learning."
