City are hopeful that Nahki Wells' hamstring injury is not serious.
The top scorer was taken off in the first half of yesterday's 1-1 draw with Swindon.
He is a big doubt for the New Year's Day trip to Notts County but boss Phil Parkinson is optimistic about the extent of the problem.
Parkinson said: "It's still a bit early to assess the injury but it doesn't appear too bad. We'll know more when it's settled down a bit tomorrow."
Ricky Ravenhill (knee) should be okay for Wednesday but Nathan Doyle is suffering with a tight groin.
