The players are back in for training and the new kit will make its first bow when Avenue take on Bradford City at Horsfall Stadium a week on Wednesday.
And new signing Andy Liddell could make his debut the same night.
The 36-year old midfielder has signed for Avenue after spending last season with Coca-Cola League One outfit Oldham Athletic.
He was born in Leeds but to Scottish parents and was once called into the Scot-land squad by Berti Vogts.
He certainly has a fine pedigree after a distinguished career in the full-time game with four different clubs.
He began at Barnsley and played for the Tykes in the Premiership after being in the side that gained promotion to the top tier in 1997.
Liddell represented Wigan Athletic and Sheffield United before his four-year stint at Boundary Park with the Latics and briefly Dean Windass ended last April.
His best goal return was in his Wigan days but his 144 league goals in 636 appearances are statistics that will make good reading for Avenue fans.
Avenue manager Lee Sinnott is still away on holiday but chief executive Bob Blackburn said: “This is a huge signing for us. He is one of the players Lee highlighted as a top target and we have managed to get him.
“He brings a lot of experience with him and will be a big asset to the club. He didn’t train with the lads when they came back from their close season break last Tuesday because he has only just returned from his own holiday.
“The first training session was really a very positive one – there were certainly big numbers of players going through their paces. Most of them were the squad retained from the last campaign but there were a lot new faces in the mix as well.
“We had 15 players on trial, two of which were playing reserve-team football for Sheffield United last season. With those players trying to make an impression and the young lads that came through from our reserve and Academy squads, it should keep everyone on their toes and give Lee and his management team food for thought.”
Blackburn added that replicas of the new home strip, with new shirts that are traditional green and white but with wider stripes, will be available to purchase from the club shop at the Bradford derby.
