City sold more season tickets during their “Christmas cracker” deal than the average crowd in League Two.

The December ploy to offer tickets for next season at last season’s prices paid off, with 4,680 fans buying in advance.

That is 300 more than the attendance average across the basement division and joint-chairman Mark Lawn believes City are on course to top their current season-ticket tally of 11,203.

Lawn said: “We’re very pleased with the take-up so far. The supporters have got an absolute bargain and that’s what the Bradford public like.

“It’s started us off well and if we can push towards – and get – promotion, then I think we can exceed the number of season-ticket holders we’ve got this year.

“A lot of clubs in League Two would take 4,600 as an average crowd.”

Fans who missed out on the December offer will have another chance to snap up season tickets at a lower price than the eventual cost.

Lawn added: “Julian (Rhodes) and myself are working on another early-bird incentive which I’d say is probably very accessible for the working man and woman.

“Then there will be a window when people can buy a reasonably-priced ticket before it will go to full price like last time. So people will have another three choices on when to get their season ticket.”
