Battling City pulled off an FA Cup shock to dump League One high-fliers MK Dons.
Skipper Graeme Lee crashed home a 25-yard free-kick with ten minutes left to clinch a superb first-round win for Stuart McCall’s side.
McCall, who handed Leon Osborne his full debut, saw the Bantams race into the lead after just two minutes with a low strike from Omar Daley.
The Jamaican was dangerous throughout a first half in which the visitors proved more than a match for the shell-shocked Dons.
But City lost their lead two minutes before the break when Jemal Johnson beat Rhys Evans with a low drive from long range.
City came under pressure in the second half but defended strongly, bouncing back from the blunders of the Barnet game.
Michael Boulding was hauled back by Miguel Llera as he burst clear. The Spaniard was shown a yellow rather than red card but City had their revenge from the resulting free-kick which Lee bent round the wall.
City: Evans, Moncur, Lee, M Clarke, O’Brien, Osborne, McLaren, Law, Daley, M Boulding, Conlon. Subs: Arnison, Heckingbottom, Bower, Topp, R Boulding, Sharry, McLaughlin.
