CROSSGATES defeated Pudsey A by ten chalks in the West Riding Cup final.
Pudsey A probably started as underdogs and Crossgates held the early advantage, leading by two points after two winners each in the first four jacks.
The game turned in the middle four jacks, with three out of four winners going Crossgates' way. Mark Hughes' 21-8 was the pick of them, although Chris Hatton's superb 21-3 kept Pudsey in touch as they trailed by ten chalks after eight jacks.
Crossgates then held that advantage over the last four games, despite carding only one winner.
