A £3 million state-of-the-art Hindu temple, opened by the Queen, is set to be inaugurated.
The Hindu Cultural Society of Bradford will perform Murti Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav consecration rituals at the Shree Laxmi Narayan Hindu Temple, in Leeds Road, from Wednesday until Sunday.
About 10,000 worshipers are set to attend the event, including 3,000 people from across the country on the last day.
The official event comes after the Queen and Prince Philip visited the temple as part of their tour of the city in May last year. The Royal couple honoured Hindu tradition by swapping their shoes for slippers on entering the temple.
The society is looking for donations for the project. Anyone who would like to help can send donations to the Hindu Cultural Society of Bradford, 311 to 321 Leeds Road, Bradford, BD3 9LS or for further details log on to bradfordmandir.org.
