THE body of a man has been found in a car park outside a block of flats in Bradford. 

Police were called at 3.18am today when someone reported a man seen lying down in a car park at York House block of flats, Idlethorp Way, Thorpe Edge.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. 

Councillor Jeanette Sunderland (Lib Dem, Idle and Thackley) said: "This is clearly a tragedy as it is when anyone loses their life in such circumstances.

"Our thoughts must be with the man's family, friends and neighbours at what must be a terrible time."

Police said enquiries were continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101, quoting log number 0140 of July 13.
