Philip Davies has signed up to a campaign calling for an EU referendum.
The Shipley MP is one of 64 cross-party MPs who have signed the People's Pledge, calling for the public to have a say on Britain’s membership in Europe.
The group announced yesterday it plans to hold referendums in 11 parliamentary constituencies this year – followed by up to 100 more in 2013. It will announce the first area next week.
Mr Davies said: “The last time people had a vote was 1975 and that was on the Common market, now it is the European Union. People thought they were voting on free trade, not to have the majority of our laws made there. The EU is bleeding us dry.”
