SIR - A special mention should be given to the Stronger Communities Team who work behind the scenes to promote community relations, and have hosted Holocaust Memorial Day Commemorations at City Hall for many years.
Unfortunately the team is threatened with reduction from 11 members of staff down to only one, in proposed budget cuts by Bradford Council.
The team has been instrumental in engendering the good inter-community and inter-faith relations for which Bradford has become well known. This will have undoubtedly been a factor in the success of the 2025 City of Culture bid. It would be a short sighted saving to cut this team, especially now in these difficult times of conflict in the Middle East and beyond.
Future investment in Bradford is dependant on good community relations.
Consultation on the proposed cuts is open via the Bradford Council Website.
