A letter written by Charlotte Bronte to an aspiring author is reported to have sold for £11,250 at an auction in London. The letter, which is three pages long, was written by the Haworth author in 1852 to a Miss Holmes, who had sent the novelist a copy of a manuscript she had written. The letter has been bought by a UK buyer, according to auctioneers Bonhams. In the letter, Charlotte (pictured) talks about her experiences of working as a governess and how it inspired her most famous work Jane Eyre. The letter had been in the hands of a private collector. Simon Roberts, from the auctioneers, said the letter that had not been seen for many years.
