Bradford pop star Zayn Malik has reportedly split from his girlfriend Perrie Edwards, a member of the band Little Mix which won the X Factor on Saturday.

Zayn, 18, of East Bowling, is in chart-topping boy band One Direction, who were runners-up in last year’s TV talent show.

He had been in a relationship with 18-year-old Perrie but, according to national newspapers, she claimed she had “not got the time” to pursue her relationship with former Tong High School student Zayn due to the pressures of her new-found fame.

As the X Factor final was being televised by ITV on Saturday Zayn wrote on social network site Twitter: “Its the final tonight guys lets get voting :) lil mix to win!”
