A Bradford shopkeeper has hit out at parking restrictions outside his premises, which he says will damage trade.
Double yellow lines were added to a stretch of Queensbury High Street earlier this week.
Bernard Kearns, who owns the Queensbury Village Cobbler shop, said he had expected parking to be further restricted after the opening of the village’s Tesco supermarket last year and did not want High Street to become a trunk road.
“I thought the Council would start restricting parking here and kill the village off,” he said. “It is definitely going to affect my business.”
Bradford Council principal highways engineer Darren Badrock said: “There was a full consultation process on the proposals to change the parking restrictions in that area from single to double yellow lines.”
