Former Bradford City footballer Dean Richards has died aged 36.
The centre half, who started his career at the club, was admitted to a hospice in Leeds earlier this week.
After retiring in 2005 due to ill health he returned to Bradford City in 2007 as a part-time coach.
The club issued a statement today saying everyone was devastated by his death.
He also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He played 86 times for Bradford City, his hometown club, scoring four goals, from 1992-1995.
