Bradford Bulls' cup-tie is set to go-ahead at Wakefield's Belle Vue ground with an increased capacity.

Trinity confirmed today that the capacity at Belle Vue will be 8,200 for the Challenge Cup tie with the Bulls receiving more than half the number of tickets.

Calm finally seems to be descending today after a heated war of words between the West Yorkshire Super League rivals yesterday.

Following initial talks with Trinity the Bulls, who averaged crowds of over 13,000 last season, feared they would be allocated only around 2,200 tickets and slammed the decision to stage the match at Belle Vue.

Wakefield Operations Director Stuart Farrar replied: "It's disappointing Bradford should make such a statement without speaking to anyone at Wakefield Trinity or getting their facts straight."

At one point Rugby League Chief Executive Neil Tunnicliffe was called in as mediator but he feels no need to intervene after receiving assurances from Trinity chairman Ted Richardson."

The Bulls had hoped for a switch to Barnsley FC's Oakwell ground where Trinity are planning to play some of their Super League home games.

But Tunnicliffe said: "That option is not available to them during the football season and bye-laws would not in any circumstances have allowed a switch to Odsal."

Bulls spokesman Stuart Duffy said: "The problem only arose in the first place because Trinity told us the capacity was 6,500.

"We will announce ticket arrangements as soon as possible."

The Bulls will receive an allocation of 4,200 tickets for the tie on Sunday, February 28.

The Odsal fans will have 3,500 tickets for the terraces at Belle Vue and another 700 for the Main Stand.

The tickets will go on sale this Saturday with further details to be published in the Telegraph & Argus later this week.

Meanwhile in-form scrum-half Paul Deacon has spoken of his desire to secure a regular starting spot.

"There is lots of competition around with Henry and Robbie Paul and Steve McNamara, but I just have to try and grab my chance every time it comes along and that is what I tried to do on Sunday."

Bulls' under-21 side were beaten 22-16 by Castleford at Odsal last night in the new Alliance competition. Try scorers were Steve Pickles (2) and Jamie Peacock.
