British Transport Police are investigating a disturbance on a train carrying Bradford City fans returning from Good Friday’s defeat at Morecambe.
Rail security guards had to board the train at Skipton after damage was caused on the Northern Rail service and beer was thrown at the conductor. They stayed on the train, which was carrying about 200 passengers, until it reached Forster Square in Bradford.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP attended Bradford Forster Square rail station on Friday, April 10, following a report of criminal damage on a train travelling from Morecambe.
“The incident was reported to police at 8.59pm when the train was at Skipton rail station and is thought to have involved Bradford City fans travelling back from Morecambe.
“Damage to the train consisted of a broken door and window and minor damage to a toilet.
“No arrests were made and inquiries are ongoing.”
