A REFERRAL has been made to the police watchdog after the body of a missing teenage boy was found.
West Yorkshire Police said the force received a report on October 21 in relation to a 14-year-old boy who had been reported missing from home.
The force said enquiries were conducted to locate him.
The spokesperson added: "Shortly after 11am yesterday (October 23), police were notified by Yorkshire Ambulance Service that a body had been found in Beechwood Park, Brighouse, which has been identified as the missing teenager.
"As a number of calls had been made to the police to report this missing person, a mandatory referral is being made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, to review the actions taken by West Yorkshire Police."
