PRIMARK has revealed when its new store will open in The Broadway shopping centre in Bradford.
The company will close its shop at the Kirkgate Centre at 5.30pm on September 9 - with the new store opening at The Broadway at 10am the following day.
A live DJ will celebrate the opening of the shop, which will include adult clothing, kidswear, and home and lifestyle ranges.
Conor Walsh, Primark retail director for the South West and North East, said: "We're thrilled to be making our move across town, placing Primark at the heart of all the action.
"At Primark, we're constantly reviewing our stores to make sure they're up to standard and are the right size and in the right place.
"The new store location will certainly help us to better serve our Bradford customers, and we're so happy that all our colleagues will be joining us in our new location too."
A spokesperson for Primark added: "All 174 store colleagues, including 13 managers, will be making the move over to the new store, where they will continue to offer Primark Bradford customers best-in-class in-store experiences.
"Alongside Primark's great value ranges that it's known and loved for, the new modern look store will also include self-checkouts alongside serviced tills and 24 fitting rooms including family and accessible options.
"Customers can also expect to see updated fixtures and fittings, improved signage and LED lighting, as well as new display units to better showcase our products.
"The long-awaited move marks a new era for the city of Bradford, with the Kirkgate Centre set to be redeveloped as part of Bradford Council's city regeneration plans."
The concrete, brutalist Kirkgate Centre building has been an imposing sight in Bradford city centre since the 1970s but is set to be flattened to make way for the new City Village - a development of 1,000 homes in the top of town area - in the coming years.
The Primark spokesperson said the relocation of Primark in Bradford forms part of the company's £100 million investment in its UK store estate this year as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
In April, the owner of Primark reported it had seen half-year earnings soar by more than a third.
Associated British Foods revealed its pre-tax profit hit £881m in the six months to March, up 37 per cent compared with the same period last year.
