Co-op is set to launch its newest store this week in Spring Wood Crescent, Bramhope.

The brand new, purpose-built, 3,000 sq ft convenience store is due to open on Friday, May 10. It has created 20 local jobs and includes an in-store bakery, Costa Coffee Express machine and customer car parking.

The store opens between 6am-10pm daily, and includes a focus on fresh, healthy produce; meal ideas; everyday essentials; food-to-go; Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from, vegan and plant-based products.

The online home delivery of groceries is also available through Deliveroo for added ease and convenience – products are picked fresh in the local store then delivered quickly and conveniently locally.

A soft plastic recycle unit is available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yoghurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable either through local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store recycling unit.

Jodie Walker, Co-op Store Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store, and we are looking forward to welcoming the community into their new Co-op. Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve our community conveniently. The store also has a focus on delivering value, with member price savings across a wide range of everyday essentials so that the people who own our business, our member-owners, benefit every time they shop.”

There will also be giveaways, samples, promotions and activities in and around the store between 11am-4pm on Saturday, May 11, including:

  • Co-op (cotton) Goodie Bags
  • Cheese and Wine - samples from Co-op’s Irresistible range with a non-alcoholic option
  • Penalty Shootout - guests will take turns to shoot at the penalty shootout goal, trying to score through holes in the banner. Scorers will receive a tasty treat or Co-op water bottle.
  • Kids Craft Tent – Co-op’s event team will host a Kids craft corner instore away from live music, youngsters will be invited to make their own ‘Grow Your Own pot’ using kits provided and have a go at colouring a bespoke Bramhope activity sheet.
