A MAJOR road in Bradford city centre has been reopened after it was closed due to flooding.
According to travel monitoring site Inrix, Hall Ings - which had been shut both ways from Chapel Street to Drake Street - is now back open.
However, Inrix reported this morning that Princes Way is closed both ways from Chapel Street to Jacobs Well.
It comes after flash flooding caused disruption across the city yesterday afternoon.
A severe thunderstorm brought heavy downpours which battered the area in a short space of time.
The flash flooding was so severe that the M606 was blocked to traffic and people parked in The Broadway shopping centre were temporarily unable to enter or exit the car park.
Last night, a spokesperson for The Broadway said: "The police, National Highways and Yorkshire Water have closed Hall Ings until further notice.
"This may impact the ability to use the car park tomorrow.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
The Broadway spokesperson said this morning: "Hall Ings has now been reopened so the car park is open as normal."
Bradford Council last night said it was "dealing with a number of flooding incidents in the city centre and other local areas", and added that some road closures and diversions were in place.
There was also disruption on the trains with lines blocked between Halifax and Bradford Interchange, and between Harrogate and Leeds. The lines have now reopened, Northern confirmed this morning.
Residents across the city told of their shock at the weather, with one describing it as "horrendous".
