A MAN is in a critical condition following a serious crash in the West Bowling area of Bradford.
Emergency services were called to reports of a one-vehicle collision on Gaythorne Road, at the junction of St Stephens Road, at 4.19pm on Monday (April 29).
The driver, who is in his 60s, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Police said the Vauxhall Astra was travelling away from Bradford towards New Cross Street when it drifted across the carriageway and collided with a lamppost and parked car.
Early investigations suggest the driver may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel, police said.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers would like to appeal for any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident to come forward. They are also keen to see any footage of the vehicle prior to the collision."

There were dramatic scenes as the air ambulance landed in Bowling Park after the crash.
It was seen on one of the football pitches bordering Parkside Road, after circling around the West Bowling area for several minutes.
Some distance away, on the other side of a mini-roundabout, a dark-coloured car had come to rest near the side of the road, with its front end severely caved-in.
A cordon had been put in place across the street, with police standing guard at either end and officers working within it to establish the circumstances surrounding the smash.
The ambulance service said it received an emergency call at 4.04pm to a collision involving one car.
“Two ambulances, an air ambulance and team leader were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed by road to Bradford Royal Infirmary,” a spokesperson said.
A significant number of people, including children, had gathered at the end of the cordon, curious as to what had taken place.
One onlooker said: “I was just walking past and saw a big incident.
“I was in shock and wondering what had happened.
“I hope they’re well, it’s a very big incident.”
One resident said: “There’s been serious accident on Gaythorne Road and what’s happened is that there was no landing space nearby so it has safely landed here (in Bowling Park),” said the onlooker.
“I seen it land here. I hope everything alright and I hope the person who is hurt is okay,” he added.
